Dx stands for "Degeneration-X".
It was a team formed in 1997, on Raw, in order to rack up more ratings than Nitro.
It consisted Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, Rick Rude, Chyna, Tori, X-Pac and Mike Tyson.
The group split in 2000.

DX was formed by Shawn Michaels and HHH. Chyna was also a part of the original DX. After Shawn was out of action, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, and X - Pac joined the group. You should watch some stuff from around the time they existed it's funny stuff. They did what ever they wanted. The greatest posse ever created. D - Generation X

DX is a group of wrestlers that do thier own thing, they have no tolerence for authority figures. DX stands for Degenration X. The X stands for the period they grew up in. The "X" generation of Degenerates.

D-GENERATION-X is the name of the alliance formed by Shawn Michaels and Triple H along with Chyna to feud against Commissioner Slaugther in 1997. At that time Bret Hart called these persons D-Generaters, so, HBK officially called his group D-Generation-X.
This group just wont give a damn **** about anyone. they did whatever they want, whenevr they want, wherever they want. Their Slogan was "You Make the rules and we break them".
After Wrestle Mania 14 (1998). HBK lost his title to Stone Cold. With triple H and chyna left, everyone thought it was the end of the group as HBK was out due to injury. But next night at RAW, triple H brought his Friend X-Pac and Billy Gunn & Road Dogg (New Age OutLaws) to join DX and formed new DX with himself as the leader. Now there were 5 members in DX.
This marked the beginning of one of the Greated groups in Wrestling history.

It stood for De-Generation X. A clever play on words making use of the generation that was big into wrestling at the time. The group included numerous wrestlers like X-Pac aka the 1,2,3 Kid. They were known for making an X with their arms and placing it in front of their crotch while screaming, " Suck it!" Clever and all to amusing for teenagers at that time.
