Yes! Many seem to be able to throw it but can't catch it. People will criticize other races, other countries, etc. without blinking but if they hear criticism directed at Americans (in general) they go mad. Sensitivity over nationalism and patriotism is so the norm nowadays geesh, how childish and truly hyper-sensitive some people can be! People need to chill out and take criticism with an open mind and even with some humor. Sometimes we deserve to be criticized!

We are all caught up in our personal individualities. We are seeking to be different in every way. This is a good question. I ask you, why cant we seem to see just how alike we are? It feels good to be part of a bigger picture. Are we all that different, that we need to point out how our beliefs conflict? Somewhere in that, you will find the sensitivity you are talking about. Yes the country is. Americans are too spoiled, cushioned, spoiled and so unaware of the rest of the world that they think only of themselves- well a lot of them...
There are a lot of good people out there but there are also what i stated above.

When have they not? Some Europeans regard 'US'ers as being easily offended especially when talking about politics and religion...and history.

Absolutely. It seems that people get insulted so easily. It's probably influenced by the things we see on TV.
