No of course not....White can be worn if the bride is 88 yrs old...that is her choice...and I bet she will look beautiful....the white color signifies "first marriage"...but I have a sister that has been married 3 times and shes worn white each time...but in a very tasteful way...Congratulations to the Bride

My advice to you is that I think that if you want to wear a informal gown to your wedding than you should. But also you can wear a nice suit or a very pretty pant suit. But I think that a gown like that would be very elegant.
Good Luck,

Not at all. The old fashioned thinking of the white dress being reserved for the "young virgin" girl is dumb. Your dress sounds beautiful and you should wear it proudly!

I got married at 45. Wore a long dress - ivory (looks better on me). Didn't do the veil thing - had a flowered comb in my updo. Worked for me and everyone thought I looked fab.

Nothing wrong with that. Your wedding is the one day where you can be more beautiful than anyone else, wear whatever you want.

If that's what you wanna wear, wear it. It's your wedding, you 47 years old you can do what you wanna do, shoot, that's you gettin married, not nobody else. Wear whatever kind of dress you want.

When's the wedding?

Not at all. I'm 26, and I plan on wearing a light blue summery dress when it's my turn.
