To prevent this, shave in the direction of hair growth. If you have bumps, a remedy that me and my partner use is Witch Hazel. Go out and get you a bottle, shouldn't cost more than 3 bucks. Douse a cotton ball with it, and pat it generously over your bumps. It shouldn't burn or sting, it should rather feel like an astringent, which will give a cooling sensation, maybe even a tightening sensation. Apply whenever your at home in the bathroom... maybe on a weekend day do it 5-8 times that day and before bed. It should start to dry them up and you'll see they will become less painful and get smaller in no time! Another thing that always helps me get super smooth results, is to wait awhile... I know if your partner is picky or if your anal about hygiene, then it can be hard, trust me I completely understand! I waited about 3-4 weeks (instead of a few days) to shave, and when it got to be about 1/2 an inch, I shaved (just today actually!)... let me tell you no razor bumps and smooth as ever!

The bumps are ingrown hairs, so make sure you don't shave everyday... use a sharp razor, with plenty shaving cream. When finished, rinse with warm water, then cold water to close the pores. Then splash hydrogen peroxide on the area and pat dry with a towel. You should not put lotion on that area at all or the bumps will get worse. Make sure you are completely dry down there before dressing, use cotton panties, nylon ones or silk promote moisture and the bumps will get worse.

Peroxide works well for yeast infections also.

shaving cream is a stupid invention that someone is making a lot of money off of....lotion or plain ole dove is better. try pulling the skin in the same direction you are shaving to make it a smoother surface. try not shaving exactly with the grain of the hairs, go on a slight angle. You will have to wait unti lthe razor burn goes away before you can try again. don't press hard, and make sure you rinse the razor constantly.

When I shave against the grain, I get bumps like no tomorrow. I use a good sharp razor and go with the grain and no bumps. I went to a porn store and got x-rated shave cream (don't ask why its x-rated) and that helps a whole lot too

Try using a thick hair conditioner instead of shaving cream and never shave the opposite direction that the hair naturally grows in. Doing so encourages razor burn.

When I first started shaving down there I got bumps. But after awhile as I kept it clean shaved it happened less and less. You will adjust over time. Using lotion and warm water is a good idea.

I have to agree with the people saying get a wax. Man it hurts when you get it done but you will be so glad ya did. I haven't heard anyone talk about Tend Skin. That stuff really works and men can use too when shaving.

theres all sorts of remedies for after if you get them. but waxing, done in a "good" spa, will prevent them too. a whole body wax in a good salon is around $300 and lasts much longer than shaving. so youre reducing the irritation to your skin preventing the bumps. i used to own a spa in north florida, check yours out thoroughly!
