Well first it depends on the type/version of the thesaurus you are asking about... now as for my hypothosis.... I will assume that a normal thesaurus has 400 words for each letter, excluding Q, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z I will assume they each have 150 words. So all together thats 8,650 words. Now the 3,000th word must be around 'F' or 'G' . So my guess is going to be that "GO" is the 3000th word.

Well, "in" the thesaurus would mean you'd have to open the cover to look in the book. So if you told me exactly which thesaurus you were refering to, I would open the book and start counting using the very first word "in" the book and keep going until I had counted 3000 words. But that would take awhile, and I can think of other things that would be a better use of time. But you could do it if you feel so inclined. I sure hope no one interrupts you while you are counting and makes you lose your place......ugh.

Depends on how thick the thesaurus is. I will leave it to you to count it because I have better things to do than count words in a thesaurus :-)
