Why are there so many stupid and corrupt people running things in this country?

Number one biggest reason.. They are allowed to be in the house and senate way to long. It should be a 8 year max time in any seat in the government. So you always have fresh meat and idea. When you allow someone to be in a seat for 20 years they become corrupt and feel they can do as they please. There should be a 2 term limit on all government seats max 8 years. This would help to eliminate the problems..

Because altruistic critical thinking is even more rare in America than
diamond mines. Too many people think on issues only as they might benefit themselves rather than the country as a whole and future generations. Further, too many will erroneously vote pols in based only on one or two very narrow issues rather than the whole spectrum of issues that may have long lasting consequences for our nation.

Because stupid people who listen to idiots like Limbaugh and O'Reilly voted for them. Stopping gay marriage is more important to them that a war based on lies, illegal immigration, the highest deficit in history, tax breaks for the rich, etc.
