if your ASR light is on, then either you are experiencing wheelspin (even a small amount will cause it to flash), or you might have pressed the ASR button to turn it off (it will be on constantly).

The ASR (button located on the console above the driver window controls e.g. 98E430) is the
Automatic Slip Regulator, aka-traction control. Push up to turn off, down to turn on (automatically ON
at start up); the ASR light is a yellow triangle located in the center of the speedometer cluster and
will light when the ASR is turned off or blinking if the wheels lose traction.

ASR is a traction control device that keeps the car from spinning its wheels It use the brakes so you should take the car to a shop that can plug in a diagnostic tool to find the problem. Could be a bad wheel speed sensor.

The ASR button light should be on, if the light is on, on your gauge cluster then you must be hitting a slipery spot. ASR is a type of traction control.

I bet, since you can afford a Mercedes, you can afford to simply take it to a garage. That would be the best way to fix it!

In my case, you would lose that bet. You should never bet on assumptions.
