I just read on the website for it that one of the side effects is that it could make contact lenses hard to wear. Does anyone know why? One of the reasons for gaining weight is that the pills semi-trick your body into thinking it's pregnant, which increases progesterone, which increases cravings and hunger. Women's bodies are programmed to eat more to provide heat, padding, and nutrients when pregnant, hence the increase in appetite.
That is also the reason why women on progesterone-only pills/shots (like Depo-Provera) tend to gain more weight that women on a mix of estrogen and progesterone.

I take Yasmin, and for the same reason. It's been helping a lot. Little suggestion though: don't skip a month for the first 6 months. It will just confuse your body.
