I blew the tranny on my piece of junk Audi A4 2003 and it cost me almost 8 grand to replace it...Is this the Germans way of getting us back for WW2 ? ?

The transmission is one of the most complicated parts of the vehicle - mechanical and computerized. It also takes about 2 - 3 weeks to properly rebuild one, and a Master Mechanic to do the work. You are probably looking at $5,000 in labor costs alone. Plus, the car is foreign, so you pay more for parts.

Yes, it is expensive - which is why you should change your transmission fluid every 30,000 miles to keep it running properly and avoid problems like a blown transmission. (Trust me, I used to do Service Marketing for a Daimler dealership...)

No it shouldnt cost that much. But than I drive a ford. Shop around you might find it cheaper from a rebuilder. I guess thats what they mean the Midas Touch..you have to pay in gold.

Piece of junk, don't think so. It happends to every car maker. Audis are one of the best made cars today.

then i got serious...

Yes Transmissions are expensive... & even more so for late model cars...

& the Germans are laughing at us all....
