You are going to hurt him even more by not being honest with him. If you lead him on, eventually he will figure it out (although some people are very dumb and don't clue in very well). I suggest that you cut to the chase, tell him how you feel, that you like him as a friend but that you are not romantically interested in him. I am a guy and this happened to me once but after I got over the initial disappointment, I appreciated the candor because that allowed me to not waste time pursuing something that wasn't there and I could move on quicker.

Don't tell him anything just ignore him all the time and he'll get the picture by him self.

Just tell him you don't him anymore and this isn't working out. Say your sorry, but don't let him try to take you back.

give him at least a reason (he will be very confused if you don't) and then give him some time to think. also tell him you don't wanna ruin the friendship.

that is impossible, therefore you should just be simple and honest in your words.Good Luck..I had to do it many times, it sucks for both people.

Honestly, there's no way to not hurt him if he REALLY likes you....you just have to be as polite and kind as you can, and hope for the best...goodluck
