I thought in that movie america should of lost because it was americas falt they sent the piolet into that territory. So whats your favorite war movie or movies?

Saving Private Ryan

HBO did a mini-series called "Band of Brothers" too. That was incredible.

We Were Soldiers...(Mel Gibson,Sam Elliott,Chris Klein,Keri Russell)

The true soldiers fought the battle on Nov 14-17,1965 in the Valley of Death. Ia Drang Valley pitted 400 US soldiers against a well-trained array of 4000 VietCong regulars. The battle ensued and it was the first major battle of the war. I have the book autographed and have talked with over 35 of the real heroes including 2 Congressional Medal of Honor recipiants. Still receive email to this day from some of the Vets including Lt Gen Hal Moore, Bruce"snakeshit"Crandell, ED "to tall to fly" Freeman and the widow of Jack Geoghegan who's husband was lost KIA Nov 15,1965 while trying to save another soldier from certain death. Even Joe Galloway the UPI reporter that was in the thick with the boys of the 1/7.......GOD BLESS ALL OUR TROOPS

'Stalingrad' and 'Enemy at the gates' are good. And they talk about the same thing in WW2, only from two different points of view. But, then you realize it is absolutely the same, and it scares you. Scares you a lot...
It's fantastic to watch it in a row: you should try it.

'Apocalypse now' is classic, but good classic, and 'Deerhunter'. on the other hand, is bad classic.

Of course, 'Saving private Ryan' is ok.

'The Pianist' is also good- finally a good war movie not from a soldier's, but from a civilian's point of view.

'We were soldiers' is awful, and 'Full metal jacket' is like two movies in one, except the first one is much better.

'Hitler: Rise of evil' is very good, and very disturbing, cause it shows how easy is it to start a war. You just need 'good people to do nothing'....

Try "The Big Red One" Sam Fuller gave a eye-opening depiction of D-Day as well and actually gave Mark Hamill something to do between Star Wars movies.
