can't give children too much cause then they just want more. i think it's good to give your child a sense of freedom and allow them to do certain things on their own but there come a time when they need a parent not a friend.

Us teens dont either! Not untill ur 21 but then u still have no freedom. The country sounds like u have freedom, but here is why u dont!
1. U can't kill without being arrested
2. U can't drink and drive
3. U can't do certain drugs
4. U can't spread news that's not true
5. U can't get married w/o a parent or guardian's permission at 16
6. U can't decide to stop paying taxes
7. U can't steal
8. U can't be drunk in public
9. U can't be naked in public (thankfully)
and last but not least
10. You have to have a permit for almost everything!

Because children are too young to understand freedom. They need guidance from elders for their own betterment. That is why they don't get freedom.

because their now old enough to realize that they can think for themselves, and most of the times use the guidelines that were made for them by their parents. I hate it when the parents go overboard though. I started noticing I could question "Why should I do this?" when I was about 11 or 12. I think this is the time when parents should start to cut the apron strings.

Because they haven't yet had time enough to learn how to handle and control the freedom.
