I actually have a friend that works for verizonand I say go for it, they have tuition reimbersment and all kinds of ther incentives, they really do treat their employees well!! It is a strict environment and you have to be able to work like that but if you work better in paid back place then stay where you are, try to do good job.

It really depends on if you need more time or more money. The first job pays more money, but you will have to concede your free time. Do you have nagging bills that need to be paid ASAP? If so, maybe the first job is best for you. If not, the other job seems to give you more time.
The other job seems fine too..if you need more time and don't need as much money right now. You will probably get hired..so I wouldn't worry about that. Maybe you should ask others who are permanent at the telecommunications company you currently work for...if their is pay growth. This may give you an indicator if you will eventually get paid the same as Verizon or not.

You aren't supposed to enjoy your job. If you happen to land in a job that you do enjoy then count that as a bonus. You should take what pays better and work as hard as you can to get noticed. A better known company like Verizon looks better on the resume for the future. Not to mention in a bigger company there's usually more room to advance.

Neither criteria should determine which job to select. Select the job that will teach you the most and that you will find more rewarding. A few extra dollars means nothing if you are miserable at the work site.
Whichever job you chose leave it when you stop learning. When yesterdays's tasks are the same as today's tasks it is time to move on.
Best of luck!

Take the Verizon job because you don't even have a guarantee that the other people will hire you. about the hours you can stay and put in request and have it changed in the future. you do not want to be stuck with no job at all.

You need to ask yourself which job has more of a future. It doesn't matter if you get paid better at one or the other. You don't want to be at a job where your going to be doing the same exact thing after say.... five years. I would pick the one that has more of a future.

I am all for 8-5 M-F and Sat & Sun Off, With paid Holidays!! YOU WONT GET THAT IN RETAIL!! There are factors that you need to ask yourself:
Do you have any major resposibilities that you would need 15.00 per hour? and so on and so forth and *Remeber* the more you make the more Uncle Sam takes :)

You will be more productive if you enjoy your work, therefore, you will not get sick, work harder, and make more money. You will not only stay healthier, make more money, be happy, but you'll live longer.
