Honestly I wouldn't worry. If it's weighing on you, then call and ask your doctor, but it's quite normal for periods to be shorter in duration and much lighter (and sometimes even non-existant) when you're on the pill.

Having an open line of communication is good with the gyne, but I think it's just your hormones becoming regulated. If you are on the pills for period regulation, it sometimes takes longer to get normal cycles going. If you are NOT having sex, you cannot be pregnant, and therefore pregnancy is not the issue.

wow, this is pretty common with most birth control pill (BCP) preps.

The last 4-5 days are "blanks" or often "iron pills", so that the uterus sloughs.

The shedding of the uterus is a "clensing" event. It is thought that uterine cancer results from conditions where the uterine lining doesn't slough efficiently. So, continuing to cycle on the pill is usually normal.

This is changing day to day, very opinion driven. Depo provera, for example, generally eliminates periods all together, with no observed uterine cancer increase.... complicated.

If you're not sexually active, you more than likely just messed up your cycle. I've done that quite a few times and it freaks me out every time. I just keep taking the pills and eventually it'll start. You're not sexually active, you're not pregnant and you don't have an STD so don't sweat it until it's been a few months.

It takes 2 full cycle of pills for the pill to become fully effective.
