Because, like falling, realizing you're in love is uncontrollable. You 'trip' on how wonderful the other person is, how sweet they are, and you just 'fall'. You can't stop it, you can't choose how fast or how long. It just happens and sometimes unexpectedly.

Because although love makes us feel like we are on top of the clouds sometimes, most of the time we are falling apart from emotional pain brought on by love.

Think of being caught up in a tree, unable to reach or understand life. When you're really in love, you fall down, able to experience and understand true happiness, not just observe it below.
