A dob bites you son, you logically want justice, ie put the dog down, lets say a cute little puppy bites your son inflicting the same amount of damage if not worse, would you still put that puppy to sleep?

Humans are the top of the food chain. Sure you'd put the puppy to sleep. Just like you'd fight for the death penalty if your son was killed by a human.

You don't put them down over a bite, you put them down over an attack. And there is a difference.
Your kid pulls the dog's tail, and gets a bite, well, kids got to learn.
Let's not load the terms please.
If you get attacked by your dog or cat, or somebody else's for just walking by, that is a put down.
We, in case you didn't notice, tend to do the same things with humans in this country. If you kill to defend yourself, it is not a put down. If you murder for other reasons, well, there is the death penalty.
I am not sure I see the difference, except the dog or cat is not capable of killing. They would have, if they were big enough to do it, which is the whole point.
Puppy's are infants. And they have much more leeway to make mistakes.

we are humans and we think our lives are worth more than dog or cats -------- if we could ask cats and dogs that question im sure we would get a different answer on life value ---- as for the puppy u said it yourself he's cute and little

Yes I would put the puppy down, your title question is more interesting as we find that humans have more awarness and consciousness than that of animals so we value the life of humans more than that of animals because we are unique and feel the need to preserve that indivduality

If any dog regardless of how cute it may be if it were to bite my child and my son or daughter weren't antagnozing it then yes I would want the dog quarantined and if it mauled my children I would want that animal put down.

I don't believe we should kill anything, we only do so from ignorance of not knowing what else to do for our mutual satisfactions. And each person puts different values on different animals, plants and minerals according to their own needs. So to some people their dog is worth more than you or your child and vice versa. Its human nature to desire to kill something that causes it pain, inconvenience or loss of some sort. May love help us all.....

There is some thing called level of intelgence. Humans are smarter than dogs, therefore they get more respect. Cricket are worthless, therefore their death are meaningless. Plus, we are humans, so we have to respect our lives. Some of us care about the lives of the pets. But it does not exceed our love for ourselve. Cricket however does not contribute that much to human society, so no one care about it.
