First, I am planning on installing the unit myself. I have a gas furnace and a condenser outside. They are both Lennox however, the unit inside was made in 1974 while the unit outside had been recently replaced in 2002. The evaporator coil was replaced as well. I was looking very carefully at the furnace unit in the basement of my house and noticed it appears to be connect to the ducts and it sits on the floor. It is rectangular and is approximatley 5ft by 2ft. It appears to be something that you can disconnect and remove yourself I notice when looking online the gas furnaces they are of similar size and you can make it fit by cutting appropriate size adaptor to fit your existing ductwork. Of course, there are gas lines you may need to cut etc... The only thing I was wondering about does the evaporater coil in the house need to be changed as well with the new furnace. Finally I was wondering are GOODMAN a good company they commonly sell them new on ebay.
