actually yes i do. of course there will be blacks answering this saying "oh you could never understand" but i mean at what point do you quit dwelling in the past and move on. There are plenty of all black colleges now and no white person has made it an issue, but if america decided to have an all white college black would freak out!! its true think about it. in rap songs blacks use the word n i g all the time but if a white person said it they would freak out, and this is so true. so yeash blacks overuse the word discrimination.

Become a Black woman or man in America for just one day and you will understand why the word "discrimination" is overused. Also, dont limit discrimination to just African Americans, everyone can be and probably has been the victim of some type of discrimination at some point in their lives. You really aren't part of the solution when you refer to us as "the blacks" either.

FYI: Discrimination isn't a "black" issue. Everyone can be discriminated against in this day and age, white, black, arab, chinese, etc...
Some people do overuse the word discrimination, but mind you, it is not the entire race that feels they are always being discriminated against. The real problem is that there are some people who have biased views and prejudiced thoughts that prevent them from getting to know someone for who they really are. Ever saw the show "white black," it proves that discrimination happens on both sides of the border and both races there are people who have prejudiced thougts about the opposite.

Most of the time there is a reason and when there isn't, using the word discrimination is a result of hundreds of years and many generations of oppression that has not ended.
I think that instead of being annoyed or angry people should attempt understand the reasons behind the overusing.
Its easy for you to ask this question cause you are not black. No I don't think we over use the word. You can never walk in a black persons shoes so you will never understand especially with your type of upbringing. In 2004 my sister and her husband was looking through the paper and calling apartments that said they had vacancies and 4 different ones said they were full from the sound of her voice, as soom as I called back with my white voice they had a vacancy so what are we supposed call lthat.
You automatically thought that you were being discriminated against, so in turn you called whoever and got pissed off. to me you were just looking for a fight. Thank you for making the mans statement apparent. Its hard to see the tree for the forest when you watch the news and look into our nations prisons. you have African Americans to thank for your discrimination not caucasions. I have plenty of black friends... but they are not gang banging thugs, they are all well dressed, well behaved, upstanding citizens. Im sorry you had the incedent you described. It just seems to me like you wanted to be discriminated against, so you called.

YES. People don’t quite get the meaning nor can identify an act of racism unless you see a white person doing it, now that is racist. People discriminate strongly against whites; Hispanics and black for the most part discriminate against them.
Whites can’t march and if they do they are racist, they can’t create association and if they do it’s because they are racist. But we Hispanics/blacks are allowed to do so because we are NOT racist. I am a Hispanic

Do ya think? You can't even discuss equality with blacks without being called a bigot.
cjfox is typical. Divert the conversation from the real question. 30 yrs of Affirmative Action and you still can't cut it, therefore its discrimination?

Certain segments of the black community have it ingrained that they cannot succeed because they are discriminated against. Yes, there is discrimination in the world, and yes, people have discriminated against blacks; but discrimination occurs at all levels to all people. In my life I have been discriminated because I'm male, because I have disabilities, because I am white and because I am a veteren. I just consider it their loss and move on.
