My real life hero is my mother. I had a baby when I was 16 and my mother was the only one who supported me in my decision to keep the baby and the only person who encouraged me to still complete my goals in life. With her help I graduated high school on time and I went to college and graduated as an R.N. Without her I know that I would not be where I am today.

The person that I most look up to and consider to be my hero is my 8 year old son.

He doesn't suffer from a terrible disease or malformity that he has to fight against every day, he doesn't have to wonder where his next meal is coming from or if he will have shoes that fit him when he needs them. He is just an ordinary child who has dealt with diovorce and step parents, the rigors of school and play. Just an everyday American kid.

What makes him a hero to me is that I long to be like him. Everyday he discovers something new. Everyday he absorbs knowledge. Everyday he plays without worry of when the street lights will come on.

I just go through the motions of life, but my son, he lives. He is my hero because he lives and inspires me to sit up and say that it is up to me to make it a great day and to live.

Without a doubt my grandmother in Germany. She was widowed at a very young age when my grandfather died of a heart attack a week before Christmas. She was left to raise 6 kids and run the butcher shop. My grandmother refused to remarry, she didn't want to burden her children with a step-father. I have more respect and admire her more than any other person I've ever met. I only hope I can be half the woman she is.

My real life hero is myself. I know that may seem self-centered, but if you think about it, each person is their own hero. You have the ability to create your own destiny and become a hero in the eyes of the world that surrounds you. That is what life is all about. There is no one better to look up to in the world but yourself, and if you don't, you need to re-think your life and why you feel the need to look up to someone else as motivation for how to be a good person and be looked up to by others. If you have to look up to someone else as a hero, then you are living vicariously through them.

My real life hero is my husband!

When i thought nothing good could ever happen to me at a time when i was nursing a heartbreak, he came along and made me feel good about myself.

When i got pregnant and thought I'll have to drop out of university to take care of my baby, he married me and made sure i lacked nothing.

When my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, my husband provided the money for his medical care.

He gave me my three beautiful daughters.

Whenever life gets me down and i think i just can't go on, he comes along and calls me his angel.

I have been married to him for 11 years and I'm looking forward to growing old with him.

My Husband Is My Hero!!!

My real life HERO is my husband Mike. Who every morning rain or shine puts on his blue police uniform to go out and fight crime. He works weekdays, weekends and is always on call. He might not be overseas fighting, but he is fighting crime here, and I strongly believe that the difference he makes, makes all the difference. Hats Off to all the Police Officers in the World!

My mother. Who over the course of her life raised 5 children and 1 foster child, many times on her own. She endured alcoholic husbands, poverty, and cancer and still managed to receive her PhD and provide inspiration to all her children so that they would excel to achieve good educations and be productive members of society. She inspired the students she taught and made friends like no other. She was a straight A student and worked to the day she died to complete her tasks. She was an optimist and never gave in to defeat yet still managed to provide the love and nurturing of any mother. She always sacrificed for her children without asking in return, love was unconditional. Her work was always exemplary her love of life unrivaled. God bless you mom!
