NO- never has anyone prove that xray photons have caused them to become sterile-
As a Professional Radiology Technologist- We prevent exposing your body unnecessarily- shielding areas we are able to and Some we are not able to- given an exam for pelvis/hips, we have to xray your genital area, exposing you to xray photons.

We minimize what we can- but we have to expose you to what is with -in the means to give a diagnostic study.

Xray has been used for over 100 years now and we are still learning the effects it has on general public/ repetitions exams/ and unborn babies.

AS for shielding EXAMS- I love when ppl ask for a shield with out understanding the reason we shield and the reasons we dont. ASK- Be informed you will feel better knowing then wondering about it days later

It would take a WHOLE LOT of x-rays to make you sterile. The only case I know of is a radiation case involving a guy in the Airforce that stood in front of a radar dish. After several decaeds they discovered that he had in fact cooked himself from the inside out. Most x-ray machines are very low power and you actually are at no risk. Especially if you had just that one x-ray.

I would be a bit concerned and talk with your doctor, depending on what was being done though, it may have been such a low dose of radiation that it was not a necessary need at the time.. I would ask your doctor about your concern though. Take care and I hope all is well with you.

No, you won't be sterile from an x-ray. One every now and then won't do anything.
