Or are they smart, logical, even intelligent people? Do they always act silly in real life, or its just because we only see them on TV. how come they become successful at the things they are doing???

How come he still lives with his parents? That's what I want to know...
I think people like him are just adrenaline junkies. He could be smart in a street-sense kind of way but not likely book-smart.
But you never know until you actually get to know the person, not just by watching 30 min of their life every week.

Actually, Bam Margera does those things on TV as a way to finance his joys in life. He travels the world to skateboard. He does expos and competitions.

They are "people-smart", charasmatic, and know how to market themselves to the Nth degree and that what makes them successful. I think the persona that they effect for the public is a magnification of their true selves, but I would venture to guess they are they way they portray themselves to certain degree in real life.
As to if they are intellectually intelligent I would not venture to guess, but as they are able to pull in a very decent salary based on what I stated in the first paragraph, if they are not it is not necessary for them to be.

i am not speaking with too much knowledge but my friend won a trip to party with them and said they were pretty quiet and not as exciting as the seem

they do these dumb things because its fun. they are very smart in another sence tho.
