Please understand I am not trying to bash Scientology. Everyone has a right to believe in their own religion. At every race a prayer is said to GOD. I just wanted to see what people felt about the Scientology in NASCAR?

Uhh, I doubt you'll ever see it. The Nascar community is heavily filled with Christians, and most of the racers and teams are too. Motorracing Outreach has become a huge part of the Nascar community.
Yeah, as someone mentioned the rednecks and scientology don't mix.
If people get offended by God than Nascar is so not their sport, b/c God is never getting out of Nascar. I will be happy to join the foot cramming up butt clan if someone wants to start something with my sport, LOL.
I so don't get Scientology. It seems like a tree-hugging, hippy, hollywood, pretty-boy, rich girl, type of thing that has no place in the real world.

Well, NASCAR still being a family owned business, they're not gonna stop the prayers. If they use their car as a way to preach Scientology, I don't want it. I think its a fake religion glorified by insecure "actors" who don't have a brain of their own....However, if they are just gonna race....Well, thats one more car that won't make the race every week. They're not gonna get the support they need to field a good car and it will be another high profile team that will quickly struggle and close its doors.

I'm tellin ya now, the first person to get offended in the prayer before the "announcement" is gonna get my foot up their butt.
Like the one guy said - Scientology and Rednecks don't mix. You don't tell someone that's a diehard Nascar fan ANYTHING different than the Nascar Trinity: Fast Cars, Boobs, and Beer.

As a die-hard Nextel Cup fan from the Northeastern US, I don't think NASCAR and Scientology make great partners. I don't like a lot of the stuff Scientology preaches. And I really don't think NASCAR fans, many who are Christians, would fall for it. I don't need some Tom Cruise- type pushing his beliefs on me.

Nascar is perfect just the way it is...we don't need any crazed scientologists and their alien beliefs to come in and try to mess things up. I agree with the guy that said Rednecks and scientologists don't mix and with the girl that said the first person to complain about the prayer beforehand should get someone's foot up their butt. I know Nascar is trying to diversify but lets leave the freaks out of it...
