I haven't read it but it has been recommended to me. Just wanted to know the thoughts of some of its readers.

I own both of the books that are out!! I love the series and intend to get the next book. If you are not much on reading then you could wait until December 15th when the Eragon movie comes out. Some of the cast in the movie are John Malkovich, Jeremy Irons, Sienna Guillory, Ed Speleers, Chris Egan, and Garrett Hedlund. I would suggest the books to anyone!!! Although if you have a problem with large words this may not be the book for you. It has large words and some of the plots are hard to understand. This isn't a book for younger readers because of its difficulty level. Other than that it is an excellent series to read. Can't wait for the last book to come out. It's rumored that it is twice as thick as Eldest and might be named Empire. If you need more info on it I would suggest getting on wikipedia. They have a lot of good info, several pages in fact. Hope you like the book. Good luck!

Eragon is a very entertaining book. It's easy to see influences from Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, but that doesn't diminish the story. The fantasy world set up in this book and it's sequel is very interesting and expansive. I don't usually like fantasy very much but this book includes real character development, which makes it all worthwhile!

It was pretty good. Worth the read, although definately not on my top-ten list. One answer mentioned Star Wars. I also noticed some elements that seemed to me to be taken directly out of a series by David Eddings, "The Belgariad." Like the part about his palm turning silver. There were a few other things, but I can't remember them at the moment; it's been a while since I read the book.

I'm not usually into the fantasy genre, but one of my students (high schooler) recommended this book to me, told me it was his favorite, and he loaned it to me to read. I was enthralled. You'd never know that the author was so young when he wrote it--it's wonderful! You will get hooked, then immediately go off to find a copy of the sequel, Eldest. It's a great read--go for it!

It was definitely one of the better books written recently in that genre. I really enjoyed it(I read it last summer) and would recommend it.

I liked it. it seemed long but still i wanted to know more. More realistic than the usual sappy stupid fantasy books.
