Anyone that tells you not to eat before a workout is uneducated in exercise. If you exercised excessively without eating you would either feel faint or nauseated. Your body needs fuel or energy to get through a work out. There is no such thing as "target" training or toning just one area for weight loss. Diet and exercise combined are key to obtaining your goal. People eat and drink far bigger portions than they even realize. Keep a food journal of everything you consume for an entire week, one day at a time. Make sure you write serving size (be honest) calories, fat, protein and carbs. 30 minutes of cardio 3 days a week and you're goal will not only be realistic but obtainable. Good Luck.

And if you're wondering how I know, my husband has been a personal trainer for over 10 years.... I'm 5'4" and weigh 117 pounds.

when you workout and have healthy eating habits the weight..you will burn fat where it was stored. Anywhere the fat is..that is where it will burn off. You make sure you drop off junk food. Drink lots of water very important. Eat 5 meals a day to keep your metabolism going to burn those calories. Make smart food choices. As far as for exercise...make time for cardio...and yes crunches you can do. Everyday you can do 3 sets of 20 and make sure you breath and hold in your stomach while you are doing them. Fell the burn..you will see results. Try leg lifts as well for the hips. You can try many diff exercie to target areas and tone your body. You will see results just have to stick with it and be patient. Make if fun..a habit and you will se a great diff..

good luck.

Work out early in the morning. Don't eat before you work out either, early morning is the longest your body goes (usually) without eating. Have a cup of coffee as the caffeine gives your body an extra push. There's an enzyme in your body that is stored up at night that helps fight those ugly "fat wads". Women's body's are built differently and store fat differently then men. Women are maturnal and store fat easier.

I think that there is only one tried and true method: cut her fat hips open with a spork, slide in a straw, and attatch to a vacuum cleaner. The disgusting fat should come out with no complications. Just don't turn the vacuum on in reverse.

Cardio...walking, running, swimming, etc. You burn the most fat from aerobic exercise.
