Don't know if you live near a lake/ocean, but my son is taking his dad and stepdad deepsea fishing. They'll get some time together and celebrate what father day is about.

Gosh, looking at the other answers I feel like a real cheapskate! My daughter is 21 months old and the BEST present she can give me is to have time with her. I enjoy every day that she and I spend alone and, as a teacher, I get a lot of time in the summer with her. For fathers day I would settle for a card and spending time as a family! If I HAD to choose a gift it would be something simple such as dinner or something for the garage or backyard. (bug zapper would be nice!)
I for one do not believe Mother's day and Father's day are times to be asking for or expecting large expenisve presents! These are times to celebrate the gift of parenthood and to spend time with your kid(s) whether that is fishing, kicking back and watching a movie, going for a walk to the park, or enjoying some peace and quiet together reading a book or something. It is not about the gift or getting something. It is about being a FATHER and as a FATHER your responsibilities are incredible and the best gift you have every Father's day is that your son or daughter is alive, healthy, enjoying their life, and fulfilling at least most of your dreams for them!

Depending on what your dad likes. I know my husband enjoys hunting and that sort of thing, so maybe something to do with that. Or there are alot of online gift of the month ideas - you just have to do some searching. Hope it helps :)

Depends on the dad's personality:

Gadget Dad:

iPod, computer accessories, cool cell phone, Cd's of favorite bands, etc.

Bookie Dad:

Book marks, new book by favorite author, signed book, reading lamp, etc.

Musical Dad:

Guitar, song books, Cd's, automatic tuner, etc.

Jokey Dad:

Funny T-shirt, redneck stuff, comedian books, comedian DVDs, etc.

Business Dad:

Office supplies, cell phone, cool office chair, cool desk, organizer, day planner, etc.

So just pick the category(s) your dad falls under for a few options!

Family Dad:

Day of fun, do some chores, make a nice dinner, etc.

Sporty Dad:

T-shirt with favorite player, taped sports games, football, basketball, soccer ball, baseball, whatever with favorite team name on it, something signed, etc.
