Pi is equal to the ratio of the circumferance of a circle to it's diameter. This number will always be the same for all perfect circles. Unfortunately this is an irrational number because it has an infinite # of digits after the decimal place. Commonly accepted are 3.14 or 3.1416 however It's been calculated out to having over 200,000,000,000 digits and has been determined that it's exact value cannot be calculated. Another commonly used value for Pi is 22/7 (although this is off by .0012......)

Pi is an irrational number. This means it cannot be described as a fraction correctly and is not a terminating decimal. This also means it is not a repeating decimal. Pi is the mathematical divisional relationship between the circumference of a circle and its radius squared. Here are just some of the digits of Pi.

Pi is an infinite number, meaning it does not have an end, and therefore it is impossible to come up with a fixed number of digits that make up that number.

The whole concept of Pi is that it never ends. "Digits of pi are generally calculated by representing pi as the sum of an infinite series, then evaluating that sum to as many terms as are necessary to get the desired number of digits. "
