Same here. I have Kent on my team, and he's always on the DL.
I've been wanting to drop him for a while now, but for some reason I haven't. Obviously Kent isn't performing to his full potential this year. But I say, hold onto him for a while. It's still pretty early to drop one of the elite players in the league. Wait until the All-Star break(that's what I'm doing), and if he doesn't bring up his stats and if he doesn't start performing better, drop him!

Assuming you mean from a fantasy perspective, it depends on your scoring system. It should also be noted that Kent is on the I/R list. While Castillo has been playing very well of late, Kent has the historical consistency.

No, Castillo is younger, has a better bat, a stronger arm, and has Jack Wilson at shortstop, probably the best double play combination in the senior circuit. Just because Kent's team has a better record, doesn't mean he is a better player.

Kent is on the DL and Castillo is younger.

Go with Castillo.

Don't do it. Kent will always be better than Jose Castillo.

grab castillo now. just be prepared for this hot streak to end. the pirates are a young team and they could come to a screeching halt. another 2b to consider if available is B. Hall (Brewers) in most leagues he's eligible for a number of positions which makes him that much more valuable also consider Cruddyer (cubs) same deal multiple positions

Fantasy wise, probably, although this kid could be coming in his own right now. If you mean if you were going to actually start a team, no, Kent is a clubhouse cancer.

When healthy Kent is definitely a better pick due to hr's, rbi's and total at bats.
