Nope.
If they're doing their job and representing their constituency appropriately, I definitely don't care what party they're registered with!

A politician may be capable, but there is no such thing as a fair or honest politician. Even at the lowest levels of government it is difficult to find an honest elected official. By the time they reach higher levels they are all corrupt and untrustworthy, only thinking of themselves and the power of their position. So no, It doesn't matter if they are Republican, Democrat or whatever party. They are all crooks.

Yes, someone can be fair and still have bias' a fair democrat, is more likely to vote liberal because she believes thats fair and just, while a republican is likely to vote the opposite because he believes its fair and just. The parties represent ideas, and if a party elects an individual its his duty to support the views of the party, in that way he is fair and true to his constituents.

Great question! Find me this person and they will get my vote everytime. The sad truth is this person has no chance of succeeding in politics. The two party system guarantess this. While I appreciate the spirit in which this question was asked, you supplied your own answer.
