I know I'm going to get some frivolous answers but let's see who knows their history. Use your memories,PLEASE. . The above answers are correct, but his dispatch to Jackson, shotly after learning of his wounds, was, "Could I have directed circumstances otherwise, I would have chosen to be wounded in your stead, for the good of the country. I congratulate you on your victory, which is a testament to your skill and courage."
