does anyone know how to do an in text citation to a website with no author nor page number? MLA format.

lets say the source is from: bulding a bridge. "How to build a bridge". buildabridge.com.

how would I do an in-text citation to that?

example: building a bridge needs lots of caulk and steel (buildabridge.com)

is that the correct citation?

Generally, if there is no author, you should use the title of the document. In-text citations are a way to make it easier for a reader to find the full citation in the Works Cited page(s). Therefore, you need to include information in an in-text citation which will make it easy for a reader to find the full citation entry at the end of the essay.

The "MLA Handbook" is a VERY USEFUL tool. They have a website as well, and this is the url to the page that may contain a more specific answer to your question: http://www.bedfordstmartins.com/online/cite5.html

you would just use the first word of the article.
ex: building a bridge nees lots of caulk and steel (how)

then cite it
How to build a bridge. Date published (if given). Date accessed. then the actual website with <> around it. . Also make sure that the first line it tabed over, but only the first line it should look like this
How to Build a Bridge. Oct 2005. 13 June 2006.

Check out this very helpful website: http://webapps.calvin.edu/knightcite/index.php Simply click to MLA, under source type, click electronic. Then go down to where it says Website, and click either entire site or web document. Then enter all of the information that you do have, and it will show you exactly what your citation should look like. Also, any time you are using direct quotes, make sure that you put parenthesis, " " around the actual text

"Since most Web sites do not have page numbers, avoid in-text parenthetical citations by identifying the site in your paper itself"

Example:

According to buildabridge.com, building a bridge needs lots of caulk and steel.
