Actually, the did NOT re- elect him. That is one of the most common misconceptions the citizens of our country have. The first time around he was Appointed by the supreme court AND thousands of voters were selectively 'deleted' from the voter registration lists. The second time around they made sure their ELECTRONIC voting machines (read- no paper trail!) deleted or did not count, hundreds of thousands of votes. These machines that count our votes are not gov funded. The companies producing these machines literally donate millions of dollars to republican candidates and then are awarded no bid contracts. Even ultra right winger (and NRA member) Chuck Herrin, a computer software professional, has pointed out the fact that the voter machines were actually DESIGNED to be hacked!!

I could answer your question on why some people chose to vote for Mr. Bush, but you used the term 're-elect' and I just had to correct you.

ps- be active! join a campaign for fixing elections! (not the republican use of the term 'fix' though)

The Republicans were smart--they played on people's fear of terrorists and they appealed to people's uneasiness about a rapidly changing world by claiming that there used to be some Golden Age of family values and that only the Republicans could bring us back to it.

Added to this was the Democrats longstanding tendancy to nominate people who are wishy washy and their fear of ever taking a stand on anything so they don't alienate anyone.

I don't hve any hope that these two positions or stragegies will change much in the forseeable future.

We didn't!! Just like he stole the election in 2000 with the help of Diebold and his cronies in Florida, GW Bush stole the election in 2004 with the help of the Diebold voting machines, and corruption in Ohio!! Research the Ohio voting debacle and you will see this is clearly the case.
