i work in the construction industry and i am on my feet 12 hours a day and suffered from hard skin on my feet for ages

i suggest soaking your feet everyday in mild soapy water and buy yourself some flexitol heel balm it says use twice a day but once should do it after you have soaked and dried your feet. and no i do not have shares in the company.lol. try it it realy works

Simple and cheap way is to soak your feet in a bowl with moisturising bubble bath. Then use pumice stone or foot file (50p in tesco's). After that use vaseline rubbed in really well before your feet dry off too much after towelling. If you can stand it go to bed with cotton socks on. Just get into the habit of applying some after showering or whenever you wear socks. A little smudge before wearing those flip-flops will help retain moisture in your heels.

You will be pleasantly surprised how well your feet begin to look and feel. Definitely start off by pampering and soaking a couple of nights a week.

The best thing to use is what looks a bit like a cheese grater. You can get it from chemists and its especially for the feet. You need to soak them first to soften the skin and then put some soap on the 'grater' and rub the heels. Use a really good moisturizer afterwards. Do this a few times and I guarantee really soft and nice looking heels

A pedi is always nice, but if your not wanting to spend the $$, then I would suggest after your bath/shower rub your favorite lotion all over your feet, take a pair of warm cotton socks, turn them inside out and put them on. Lounge around while the lotion sets in and softens your feet!

Salicylic acid containing creams and gels are the only products which will really help reduce this hyperkeratosis. Bathing, moisturising and expensive skincare products will only temporarily hydrate the skin to make it more (temporarily) supple. The thickened skin at these areas can also be removed by physical means (it's all dead skin cells anyway) either by trimming (scissors or blade) or abrasion (files, pummice stone etc...)

After you get out of the shower or bath and your skin is nice and soft (you can also just soak in warm water for about 5-10 min.) use a pumice stone on the rough patches, rinse and then apply a good moisturizing lotion all over. Then, put on some socks or wait for the lotion to be fully absorbed before walking around(I usually go to bed and put the lotion on before I go to sleep). It works for me, Try it.

Soak your feet in salt water and then use a rough surfaces scrubber to get off the dead skin. A pedicure would work, too!

I would recommend using the Mary Kay product extra emollient night cream. I know the it says "night cream" but it works wonders on dry skin no matter where! I use it alot in the summer on my heels!!

Vaseline petroleum put it on your feet at night with a pair of socks trust me by morning your feet will be soft like a new born baby.

There's a great lotion called Flexitol heel balm, it really softens them and takes off any dead skin from your heels
