You can look up fundraising on the net and find lots of companies that are willing to help you sell their stuff. Also, many direct sales companies, like Avon, have a fundraising catalog you can sell from, giving you a portion of the sales. Of course, there's always the time honored ones like bake sales, brat & hot dog sales, car washes, garage sales, auctions, golf events, walks & rides (for miles traveled), raffles and other such activities. You can put cans out at several businesses, with your particular event listed on the side. Hold a spaghetti, chili, chicken, steak, soup, salad, or other such dinner. I belong to Habitat For Humanity and I'm on the fundraising committee. We're looking for new ideas, because we've done all the above ideas. They're good, but we're always looking for something unique, that will get people's attention. We do something called Shanty Town, where everyone goes around getting pledges to sleep in a cardboard box overnight. They create whatever kind of box they want, decorating it and coming up with themes or whatever. We've turned it into a real festival, with rides and games, music & food. This was our third year and we raised over $12,000...and in a rural community too!. Being creative is important, because there are hundreds of other organizations trying to do the same thing. Hope it all works out for you. <*)))><

Be creative. Car washes and bake sales are getting stale by now. Organize a fundraising event that will have people talking and become a memorable experience for all involved.
Here's one idea that may work for you: Host an auction or silent auction by enlisting the donations of small businesses throughout your community. Small businesses are always eager to advertise their services, and to donate their goods or services to a good cause. You can also arrange for food and beverages to be donated as well. Put together a program advertising all the businesses involved in the event and sell ad space in the program to the vendors that did not donate their goods or services to the auction, but want to contribute. You can make it a formal affair and charge $20 or more, depending on if it's a cocktail event or an actual sit-down dinner. See if a local hotel will allow you to hold your event in their banquet hall, or if a church parish hall will allow you to do it.
Best of luck!

Hmmmmmmmmm...there are many fund raising events. Just depends on how much time and man power you have, as well as how much money you need to raise. One of the best ones I have seen is a golf tournament. People pay money to play golf for the charity. It ususally includes one or two meals and can be worked out through the local golf course. More money can be raised at the event by having raffles, silent auctions, selling mulligans, etc. Good luck!

depends on what kind of non profit organization. you could have a golf tournament, ask people to become members of a club with the promise of a newsletter to keep them posted on all the happenings of the organization. You could ask the local businesses around you to help you with your cause by contributing a percentage of peoples purchases towards your organization(even if its only on certain dates of the year) and even if its only 10%, you could ask your local churches to get involved. The car wash always does good in the summer months with the right area and time picked out. In order to get more helpful answers you really should post what type of nonprofit organization you are trying to help support. Do they have a large moving truck? things like that.

Here is a good one for on college campuses, that is creative and not all played out.
Talk to your local supermarket for this.
You can organize a shopping spree with them. You could either do a $100 dollars spree or a ten minute spree or whatever they will agree to.
Sell tickets for the shopping spree for 5 or 10 bucks.
Pick a winner

car wash, bake sale, cook outs are good in summer, many wal marts and sams clubs as well as bj clubs will allow you to set up the fund raiser on a saturday or sunday even both in front of the entrance. the sams i know will allow you to purchase the items such as hamburgers and soda and not charge until after the event so you can use the money earned. they even will loan use of the bbq grill and free gas to run it !

Depends on your budget and how much you want to raise. Food sales like candy or a hamburger supper are good. Golf, bowling, or fishing tournaments are usually pretty good fundraisers. A community cookbook is another option.

One of the best ones I have seen is a giant yard sale. Have all members contribute items they no longer want and set them all up for a yard sale. My wife's school has made a lot of money that way.
