I think it has to be a little of both.... love by itself is NOT enough. That gooey feeling comes and goes and when its at its ebb, you need to be a little more pragmatic about life and how it works. That gooey kind of love is nice and certainly makes things more enjoyable, but depending on that is a HUGE mistake. I think that is why so many people get divorced now... we are told that our "feelings" are what its all about. It's about so much more than that.

Depends for some it is a business venture & for some its an ivestment of love, care and understanding.I would certainly agree with the latter part cause marriage is all about living together, raising a family and growing up old together.Ofcourse these things would develope perfectly when there will be love and understanding and compromise aswell.Once you're married you can not just think about yourself. So its more of a love investment.

In India and several other neighbouring countries where 'arranged marriage' is commonly practised, based on castes, family background, status etc..i always believe it's more like a business venture whereas 'love marriage' based on love and commitment is an investment of the heart. In this case, animals are far more superior than human beings as caste, financial status, family background or health issues does not exist!

Investment of the heart- The rest you already know when you dated him or her. That too is for knowing how responsible he or she is. Marriage done like a business venture is bound to go down. Coz' its not business you are conducting, you are becoming a family.

I wouldn't use either term. It is a commitment made to another person for a life long relationship. A business doesn't have to survive in sickness or for better or worse. Both An investment and a business are actions taken with the thought of getting something out of them. You don't marry someone for the "returns", but out of love and desire to spend the rest of your life with that person.

I assume you mean a SUCCESSFUL marriage. It begins as the latter, but must also be approached as the former if it is to last. If you don't evaluate the business side of marriage, you will encounter endless conflicts, disappointments, and financial woes. If you're considering marriage, it is wise to seek both the advice of a relationship counselor/therapist and the help of a financial consultant in mapping your future.
Especially in these times of cultural depravity and social disorder, marriage hopefuls owe it to themselves and their (potential) children to learn as much as possible about themselves (individually and as a couple) and about life's responsibilities financial and otherwise.

It would be better if your relationship was based on an investment of the heart.

Marriage Is an Investment so don't screw it up.
Or else you would have invested in a life full of shame and a wast of time in your life.

In most states it is considered a business venture.
When you get married many legal issues kick in, which bind you to several responsibilities.
Make sure you understand what your rights and entitlements are.
