Here is the remedy I use, good old 20 Mule Team Borax Laundry soap. Works every time. Go to the dollar store and pick up one of the cheap squirt bottles made for ketchup, pour the laundry soap in in and apply it around baseboards, under kitchen cabinets and along base of cabinets, the ants will carry it back to their nests and it will kill the other ants as well. After several days when you no longer see any signs of the ants use vacuum to remove the remaining laundry soap....cheap way to get rid of the ants and it works.

There are some breeds of ants that are just too numberous to get rid of all together. But I found a product called Arrow works pretty well. It is a gel that oyu put on a piece of cardboard or paper and lay in spots where the ants are crossing. They are attracted to it, they eat it, the stick to it, and they die. It worked pretty well in my house. Once you get rid of them though, you need to either spray your house yourself or have it sprayed for ants and other bugs to put up a barrier so that more will not get in.

Go to home depot, lowes, or Wal-Mart
2 products will help you
Indoors:
Home Defense - comes in a jug with a spray gun - you spray the seals between your counters and the wall, spray the seals between your walls and the floor. Spray anywhere 2 surfaces meet.
Outdoors:
Amdro - ant bait - if you have any outdoor property, look around for ant hills. Scatter some amdro flakes around the ant hills & get a spreader to scatter flakes around your yard for future prevention.
Also - keep in mind that spiders & geko lizards are ant's natural predators. If you see one, don't kill it - release it outdoors.
Hope this helps.

I can't believe that after all these answers no one has told you the FIRST thing..... you MUST clean clean clean every edge, corner, nook and cranny. I highly recommend scrubbing every inch of your kitchen floor by hand with lemon scented ammonia. Move out your fridge and stove and get under and around them as well. After that... put out 4 or so traps and one single line of ant spray where they are coming in.
This is what I had to do in my own kitchen.... once that was done, I was rid of ants for the rest of the year.

You get and poison at the hardware or garden store and put it in your house. get the kind of and poison that comes in little containers that ants can go into (I'm sure you know what i mean). An ant will bring the poison to the entire colony and it will kill all those ants!

Any home improvement store (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) have several products for treating inside the house(Terro, other ant baits that work). Also a goooood idea to treat outside the house with a new(about 1 year old) product by Amdro - Yard Bait. This is sprinkled around the perimeter of your house. IT WORKS!!

If you do not want to use pesticides , use 1 part water to 1 part dish washing liquid . If it is indoors , wipe you kitchen counters( or affected areas ) down with white vinegar a few days after you have gotten rid of them . It will discourage more ants from invading .

Terro ant killer. Just a few drops on a piece of scrap paper will do it in a matter of days. The website is below but you can find it in hardware stores.
