Researchers are currently working on how to grow edible meat in the lab.
This would be a huge breakthrough for the ethical consumption of meat products. Whoever succeeds in developing and industrializing this process will be very rich indeed, as it would enable a very large portion of the world's population who currently shun meat for ethical reasons to eat meat.
Here is a snippet from a news article:
"There would be a lot of benefits from cultured meat," says Matheny, who studies agricultural economics and public health. "For one thing, you could control the nutrients. For example, most meats are high in the fatty acid Omega 6, which can cause high cholesterol and other health problems. With in vitro meat, you could replace that with Omega 3, which is a healthy fat.
"Cultured meat could also reduce the pollution that results from raising livestock, and you wouldn't need the drugs that are used on animals raised for meat."

If they managed to grow meat a lab and so there was no animal to start with then maybe I would. It would be a bit strange but why not and there is no death involved. I'm sure we wouldnt really all die, because they know a lot about genetics now, although not everything.
But if they try and grow a chicken with 6 wings that would be gross and would never eat that out of respect for animal life!

I have a problem with walking out into a field and taking a bite out of a grazing cow. I don't think the cow/steer would appreciate it. Even though thats how a steak tastes the best, still trying to get away......
