the american people have done it to themselves. as a whole we have lost our moral compass. then we complain when our "paid for" representatives behave the same way. we will never find our way with a relative compass thats different for evey one; only with one that points true can lead us. which requires us ask, what is truth?

depends on what u mean by drain. Our country has been known worldwide as the lousy tennant of countries, we get everything we want while ripping off other countries of their surplus. If anything is getting sold down the drain it is our people not our product.

America is the bright, shining example, for better or for worse, of a country run by capitalism.

A majority of the affairs we involve ourselves in now are motivated by apparent economic gain or a prevention of economic loss. This is not to say that politicians, even those in power now, don't concern themselves with human rights, but I think they typically see involvement in foreign affairs, both trade and military, as investments, and a capitalist always wants good returns from his or her investment.
