From a perspective in just simply the belief, the simple answer is the non-ability for science or physics to explain "the beginning".

The Big bang theory can work just fine, until you start asking the scientist to explain the first instant and the fact is they can't.

Scientific laws tell you that matter, time, and space had to be in existance for the bang to happen. After all, there can't be an explosion without the elements to explode. Physicists will try and say that matter, time, and space were created with the bang, and asking what went before that is like asking "What's north of the north pole?".

The fact that the beginning instant can't be reconciled to the fundamental principles of science tells one that there must be a deity. Logic tells you that everything had to come from something, and science tells you that matter can't be created or destroyed. The only option remaining is God.

That's the fundamental reason that I believe in God. Because there is no other option.

Simple answer.

If you have a piece of rock and kick it, burn it, create a god with it. It will still be a piece of rock.

But the earth, a piece of large rock, wasn't kicked, burnt and meant for it to be a god. It was DESIGNED intelligently for humans to live, scenics to praise, systems to preserve and sustain life.

Can you name a manmade system without a purpose and efficient outcome of design?

government, recycling, plumbing, meat plant, printing, tax.

All created with laws to prevent problems or chaos.

Similarly to prevent chaos and promote proper function of the earth and humans.

In a much bigger picture, the universe is governed with a system of an intelligent source.

The planets revolving around its' orbit.
The spinning of the earth.
The ecosystem.
The conservatory system.
The human respiratory system.
The digestive system.
The atmosphere.

Any of these system needs intricate planning and purpose.

These are only a few systems and function for a well design purpose(s).

Put it all together.

Not knowing the originator or the designer or the system developmer does not mean he doesn't exist.

It just means that we are ignorant about the matter.

And not accepting the facts and truth doesn't mean we can substitute it with another theory.

He's there for us to know him. Not just by his creations and traces but from the Bible, God's word.

The belief in God is very weird. People who believe don't understand how others don't etc.

I personally believe in God because I was raised that way and I've gone through tough times and had prayers answered and just that "vibe" of knowing there is something beyond this planet raged by war, poverty and disease.

If you don't, you see God as a way of denying human mortality (once we die we are gone) or a being that subjects us to guidelines to live clean lawful lies.

There is no scientific proof of God. There is only that connection, that feeling. Either you have it or you don't.

I do believe in God. Even when I was a child and saw the beauty in nature, the skys, the sea, the animals, the trees, and deep inside knew there was a God, even though I didn't know anything about the Bible. Don't you remember as a child, thinking about God in some way??

In Romans 1:18 - 22 says, God gave every man (woman & child) a knowledge of Him. Inborn, we know there is a God. But often, our busy and stressful lives drowned out the Light He has placed in us. All the misleading information on the Bible and Jesus lead many down the path of uncertainty. Many CHOOSE to deny His existance or His holiness. God gave us the knowledge He is with us, but also gave us the CHOICE as to how we treat that knowledge. Those who choose not to believe - God calls utter fools.

If you would get the New Living Translation of the Bible, you can read it and understand it. Start reading the New Testament. Before you read, pray for understanding of what you read. Tell God, that you sincerely want to know what his word says. Then start reading. If you don't understand at first, don't give up. God does not work on your time table. If you show him you are serious, he will reveal his word to you. If you don't know how to pray - it's just like talking. God hears you and understands your needs even before you do.

If it is too difficult to read through the new testament, in the front or back of the Bible, there should be a Bible Verse Finder. Start looking them up one by one. It is a good way to start hearing Gods voice.

Also, I believed, when you accept Christ as your savior, you should not sin anymore. He told the prostitute, "Go, and Sin no more". What I didn't understand for a long time, but is critical to being a Christian is, NO ONE CAN STOP SINNING ON THEIR OWN. AND NO ONE CAN EVER STOP SINNING COMPLETELY!!

It is impossible. But if you sincerely give your life to Christ, the Holy Spirit comes into your heart and Life! and will actually make the sinful things you do now, easy to turn away from, AND NOT DO. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DEPEND completely UPON YOUR OWN POWER TO PLEASE GOD - - THE JOB OF THE HOLY SPIRIT is to help us know our sins and to turn away from them. Too bad, many Churchs do not explain this better.

For example, if you have a habit of lying. No big huge lies, but little lies that seem will make life a little easier. Like where you've been or why your late. The Holy Spirit will give you the strength and power to speak the truth without the fear. In fact, believe it or not, you will have a joy and peace in you heart you never felt before when you turn from the sin. It's exciting. It can be anything you do that you know is not right, when you do right, the joy is wonderful. And the Holy Spirit will be there to guide you.

This is not to say that eventually you will be sin-free! You will never stop sinning completely. But you will have the Holy Spirit to help you to improve you life. He (the Spirit) will actually take away the desires you have to do things that are not pleasing to God. You will still be tempted to do them, but the choice to do the right thing will be much easier to make. Of course, you also have to take responsiblity and really try to do the right thing. But when we slip up, we are already forgiven. Everyone struggles with doing the right thing - - even the Apostle Paul felt great anguish about repeatedly sinning when he knew he shouldn't. Romans 7: 7-25. It is the most real account of being a Christian.

I always want to please God but I know I don't always do it. I feel unworthy of his love and forgiveness when I get off track. But, he loves and forgives us anyway. He knows what we are feeling in our heart. He made us.

Not only is there a God. But, there is a Jesus, who came to Earth, yes, as Gods Son, and lived a sinless life so he would have the power to pay for all the sins of the world and did so by dying on the Cross. Read John 3:16 - 21.

Faith. Have faith that what you believe in the Bible is true - for God said not to test him, but to believe by Faith.
God is not about to Prove anything to anybody! Our proof is the life of his Son, Jesus Christ and the only way to believe is through faith urged on by your heart. The thing is, we all believe something. I would rather believe in Christ and be wrong than believe in nothing and be wrong.

As for Bible being the true Word of God. Well, it also says in the Bible that it is the "inspired" word of God through the Holy Spirit. If God can make the Universe and everything in it, isn't it logical that the Bible can be interpreted over and over to many many languages without losing it's meaning? Could God make the universe, but not be able to keep His own word on track?? Thats one of the most ridiculous mis-conceptions ever.
The non-believers will always try to find ways to make people doubt the Bible. But don't doubt it. God doesn't play around with Mans soul. Only men do.
Read all of 2 Timothy - Chapter 3. Can anyone deny it??

This is where salvation comes in. When you give your life to Jesus Christ, he FORGIVES ALL OF YOUR SINS PAST AND PRESENT, if you will confess them. Of course, we don't remember all of our sins, so we ask Him to forgive all the sins we committed before coming to know Him. And help us to keep from sinning in the future. Then, as you pray ask for forgiveness.
