How do i put a link on my website without messing-up my site?

I have an online shopping mall website and i was told that if i mess it up in any way, they would charge me to fix it. I wanted to put a link on one of my pages, how do i do that?

Type the following html code:

My Link

Just change the yourlink.html to your own link page and change the verbiage My Link to whatever you want the text to reference your page as.
