FIRST BE AWARE OF THE SYMPTOMS BEFORE THE ACTUAL MIGRAINE BEGINS. TAKE YOUR PRESCRIBED MEDS AS DIRECTED. MAKE SURE YOU'RE IN A QUIET, PEACEFUL DIM LIT AREA. RELAX AND TRY NOT TO THINK ABOUT ANYTHING THAT MAY CAUSE ANY UNDUE STRESS. AND BY THE WAY STRESS PLAYS A BIG PART. DO KEEP BUSY WHEN YOU'RE FEELING BETTER, FIND OUT IF THERE ARE ANY FOODS THAT CAN ADD THIS SITUATION.

I have just had a 10 day headache with no relief using Midrin. I went into the E.R. due to the fact that Tylenol3 didn't even help and was presenting with one pupil not responding to light when the other one did. I was given a course of iv fluids and Phenergan(for nausea), IV Benedryl and Decadron(anti-inflammatory steroid) what a big relief when within 20 minutes the headache was gone and I was feeling much better. Might want to ask your doctor if this will help you.

I spent 21 days in the hospital many years ago with a migraine and nothing helped. I am so relieved that there are many new drugs to relieve the pain of these awful headaches.

Contrary to the what the pharmaceutical companies want you to think... Many alternative medicines really do work. There was a kid in my neighborhood when I was young, (late 70's early 80's) that was very ill with a blood disease. I don't know all the details, but the doctors pretty much gave up on him. His parents started searching everywhere for other options.... They found it thru a Native American "medicine man" (Indian doctor) This guy claimed that a very rare flower found in South Dakota would not only help this kid, but would rid him of this disease. It took something like 4000 volunteers (mostly Native Americans) to search for these flowers to get enough to make this medicine.. They were successful! This guy is now 34 y/o and has a family of his own. They don't advertise that during prime time television do they? I would do a yahoo search for alternative medicine and migraines.

Actually, I often get migraines when I have sex. So I don't think that's true. A myth for men, a mystery for women. I have cluster migraines where I can't function for several days. I gave to go to the E.R. The last time they gave me something called Dilaudid. It's a super strong drug though and it cures your headache but knocks you out at the same me. That was OK because after 4 days with the kind of migraine I had, it was a Godsend.

I have been suffering of migraine for years. Each time it would put me to bed, no lights, no sound, no smel, for at least 4 days. I tried a lot of different medecine that never worked, until I went for 1 year in Europe where I was prescribe Biprofenid.

THE MIGRAINES STOPPED RIGHT THERE.

When came back to Canada, this medication did not exist. But I found another brand based on the molecule KETOPROFEN. Its name is RODIS and it works as well. You just have to take 1 or 2 caplets depending of your weight and that's all! Hope it will work for you!

I know from experience that chiropractic care can get rid of most headaches, including migraines. It works because it relieves irritation to the nerves which travel from the top of your neck to your head. I had a horrible headache while in college that medication and even injections at the ER couldn't get rid of. I went to my mother's chiropractor and relieved my headache immediately. Good luck!

I would look in a totally different direction to get relief.

There is a one-time treatment Atlasprofilax that usually makes the migraine disappear - of course there is no guarantee.

I have experienced the amazing effects myself... :-)

Now, the treatment is available in California and Europe only, costing approx. 220 dollars. And it's worth to travel a far way to make the experience!

Some of the older people that I have been around always tell me walk to relieve stress or have sex. LOL! Migraines are usually trigger by caffeine or stress. Try maxali-milt , it usually work for me in 30 minutes or less but if your head still hurts in two or it come back you can take another one. I tired many kinds of meds, one thing that I learn is migraines med will put you to sleep. So be careful of what you take.

I use rosemary tea... simply a handful of chopped fresh rosemary brewed in a mugful of boiling water and then strain of the leaves and drink. a little honey can be added to sweeten. I would recommend you speak to your doctor though if you continue to get persistent headaches as there are many types of headache and the meds you have tried may not be the right ones.
