What is the UN preparing to do, enlight of the meotor, heading towards earth?

If there is still a threat of a meotor, coming towards earth, what is the UN, or the world prepared to do about it? Is it large enough to affect a whole Nation, or the world?

The U.N. Would not do anything, It never does anything. If a meteor was found to be approaching the Earth I am sure that the scientists in the United States would be called on to try to find a way to deflect the meteor.

They don't know of any certain asteroid or comet on its way to earth, if they did it would be all over the news everywhere. But most likely one is heading our way, but they are very hard to detect until the last minute, like comets for example are hard to detect when they are not close to the sun because when they approach the sun is when they get their tail and are more easily detected. And meteor is a term used to describe anything you see enter the earths atmosphere, meteorite is a term used when you find the rock that came from space on the ground, and meteoroid is a term used to describe the objects in space, just thought you might want those clarified.

THERE ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF THINGS THAT CAN COME TO THE EARTH. fOR EXAMPLE THERE ARE METEORS. METEORS ARE DENSE OBJECTS (LIKE IRON) AND ARE VERY HARD TO BREAK, SO EXPLODING THEM (LIKE IN THE MOVIE ARMAGEDDON) IS VERY HARD TO DO. NO ONE REALLY AHS A GOOD ANSWER FOR THAT ONE JUST YET.

THEN THERE ARE COMETS. COMETS ARE MADE OF ICE AND ROCK AND ARE A LOT LESS DENSE THAN METOEORS BUT IS STILL VERY HARD TO BLAST OUT OF SPACE.
