Ok, for the rude ignorant person who can't research his own stuff, here is 1 of about 5 million links. Hopefully I don't have to explain how to copy and paste.

I hadn't thought about that. But then I live in small town, USA so the crime rate is small compared to the rest of the country. But it is a valid point - and I can see that.

But the main thing I'm worried about is a recession.

Yes I do realize that the gasoline prices are going up and the crime rate is going up too. Isn't that terrible. The whole United States of America are at war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Children are going to school with handguns and weapons and killing other students and teachers. There has also been teachers raping students, and kidnapping them. We need a better America, and I think that President George W. Bush and Dick Cheney has a whole lot to do with the crime rates and gasoline prices. We need a better American that what we have today. We have been hearing people brining up the past about the stupid Haulocust, Slavery, and other barbaric things. Like wise, people keep doing hate crime towards blacks, whites, hispanics. Jewish, and Christians. Then as far as people with disabilities are concerned, there has been some incidents happening in bad institutional schools like the Judge Rottenberge Center In Massachussettes, and other experimental schools and those kind of schools needs to be outlawed and shut down for good. We need a better America for the American People.

well yes and that is because those things cause a decrease in the lower half of the population. Just as we saw in the depression, desperate times call for desperate measures. People sometimes feel trap and try to make money anyway they can even if its illegal and with that comes extra risk. But here is something to think about. Gasoline is still the least expensive liquid per gallon. Milk, juice, cooking oil are all over 3 dollars a gallon so considering gas prices are doing well even though to us it seems like a huge increase.

Yes. Let's pin all of that entirely on the Bush administration for messing things up. Things were different when Clinton was in the White House. Crime rates were high when he took office, but during his entire administration the levels have fallen off significantly. The job market was at its greatest in years. Even the stock market rose to stratospheric heights, too. Now look at the Bush administration. Job losses are everywhere thanks to him. The crime rate is inching back up. In these desperate times, people have to do something illegal to get whatever they want. Even if risking their life or liberty in the process. Thank you, Dubya for screwing things up!

Our gov want you poor and working so much you can't get in their hair
Kuwait pays
Dubai pays
Alaska pays
2 nations and a US state pay and do not tax their people
I know it's oil; but oil is just 1 commodity and there are thousands of commidities that can used instead with all the commodities in your state what the excuse for not paying you? With all the resources of the feds why can't they pay 50 times what Alaska pays?

Are you saying there's a statistically significant correlation between gas prices, interest rates and crime rates? I'd be interested in further study of this.

Can you post a link?

This is nothing new. SInce the beginning of time deperate people do desperate things. Eventually people become so desperate to buy food, gasoline, keep the lights and the heat on, and keep a roof over their head, that they will commit crimes.

Wow, are you dumb! Street criminals, for the most part, are not affected by gas prices or interest rates you moron. If you have never lived in the city, then you would not know that when you are poor and destitute you don't own a car. PLEASE tell me how high interest rates affect a pipehead or a junkie who mugs you for drug money. Please flush your head down the toilet.
