green Irish lucky rock?

What is it's origin? A friend had one and it actually seemed to work. It really kind of freaked me out the way it worked. I know this sounds insane but I want one. Anyone from Ireland who can help answer this for me?

It is probably Connemara Marble which is a green marble that is unique to Connemara in the West of Ireland.

ireland is associated with green and the blarney stone that is reported to be lucky. but the blarney stone is actually a stone in a castle wall that you have to hang by you feet to get too. so i'd say your friends green stone is bullox
