why does it seem more acceptable to see two women together than it does to see two men together?

In the past, two "spinster" or unmarried women would often keep house together. Cousins and sisters also could do the same. Also, the thought of lesbian women has the affect of "turning men on" rather than revolting them as gay men do. Funny, isn't it?

Well, women are accepting of gay men, they like to have them as friends and all. Men though, want to be thought of as masculine and they think that if they seem to accept gay guys, they'll be thought of as gay. They see thinking lesbians are hot makes them seem more heterosexual as well. Most women don't have a problem with lesbians, at least not as much as guys do about gay men. If men could just not be so worried about people thinking their gay...things would be better then. As for the Christians, I think it states it more outright that it's against men being together than women. Although that argument is ignorant in my opinion.

For many generations untold, women are seen as the nurturers of society. Females are always hugging, kissing, touching and dancing. It's so common that it seems unusual that many men would still find this erotic in many ways. Men are taught from birth that it's not okay to cry, be strong, and be guy friends without any overt affection. And until these conditioned responses are changed in our society, this will be considered the norm.

It is getting better but it is easier to see 2 womyn because womyn have always been seen hugging. Up untill about 10 yrs ago men barely shook hands now they hug and cry.

I always call that the "Frat boy complex". It seems like both men and women are conditioned to think that two guys together is gross or inappropriate while two girls together is sexy and acceptable. Or, in "frat boy" terms "Two guys? ewwwwwwww, like that's so gross!" "Two girls? Man, that's hot." I don't get it myself to be honest.

I agree. I'm not sure I get this myself. Guys are just as capable of falling in love with each other as women are. I think men are views as more "animalistic" in their sexuality than women. Just my opinion, though. I don't necessarily see it that way, though. Like I said, men are just as capable of falling in love with one another as we women are.

because society doesn't think that women have strong sexual relationships, sex drives or nasty hot sex like gay guys. People imagine that lesbians are just good friends because thats what they want to beleive. haha!
