I have someones drivers license number, Name and cell number but they wont give me their insurance. When they hit my car they never wrote it down and I was going to a chemistry final so I wasn't completely paying attention. I know it was my fault I am in this situation by not getting it at the scene, but is there anything I can do to get this fixed by them and find out their insurance?

Thank You

There is no way to find out what type of insurance someone has by their drivers license number.
The only thing you can do is call back the person and ask for the information.
I would also call the police department and file a report. Otherwise, if the accident was not your fault, and you do not have the insurance information on the person who hit you, you may be responsible for paying for the loss to fix your auto.
You also may want to see what your auto deductible is. If the amount to fix your auto is less than or equal to your deductible, then it isn't even worth filing the claim b/c you will have to cover your deductible first. Plus, any claim your fault or not, will always stay on your history for at least 3 years in most companies.

Go see a attorney who works with personal injury cases. You can get your car fixed and they will have to pay for your medical bills as well, or get a copy of the police report it is supposed to have their insurance company listed. You will have better luck with a settlement it you use an attorney.

Have your Ins. Company make the contact to get the info. If it is their fault, and your company pays, they will subrogate to get the money back from them.

they may not have insurance - have your insurance agent call them....because they may be at fault completely if they had no insurance....in calif at least if your in an accident..and have no insurance..it is YOUR fault regardless, because youa re required ot have it before you drive.

Your insurance probably has the ability to do it if you call them.
