Well they need to know how to spell psychologist in order to do their job!

A psychologist is a scientist and/or clinician who studies psychology, the systematic investigation of the human behavior and mental processes. Psychologists are usually categorized under a number of different fields, the most well-recognized being clinical psychologists, who provide mental health care, and research psychologists, who collect, investigate and analyze aspects of human behavior.

Personally, I think a psychiatrist is a more interesting path-- and what most people intend when they say they want to be a psychologist. Psychiatry is one of the clinical medical disciplines that involve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental and behavioral disorders such as clinical depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and anxiety disorders. They are the ones that work closely with people and help them with their needs.

I cannot answer you in term of interesting job or not since I am not a psychologist. I think it is and it should be for the one who likes to probe people's mind. But probably if you ask a lawyer the answer may be no since he likes to probe people's bank account.
