I've tried the different nipples the air vented ones, those compared to the mom's nipples even the AVENT product for her. she didn't take the pacifier either from evenflo (air vented) breast milk in the bottle wasn't accepted either. i tried everything suggested. The little food that she does take in together with water (she likes water on a good day) and breastfeeding i may have to settle into. That's why i'm now wondering if her weight is okay for her age being that her birthweight was 3.5 kg.

That amount of weight gain is OK. Most babies double their birthweight between 4 and 5 months. So I would expect her to be around 7 kg, which is pretty close.

Print out a copy of this birth chart if you want:
http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhanes/growthcharts/set1clinical/cj41c018.pdf

You can see that for a 5 month old, 6.85 kg is perfect. Anyhing in the white area of the curve is normal. The height chart is the upper curve, weight is the lower curve.

Remember that water has no nutritional value to a baby, and is not a necessary part of their diet. But to be honest, it sounds like her weight gain has been fine in spite of that.

Congratulations!

But Ask your doc, just in case.

Try to take the NUK nipples, they are good.

My Baby, she don't like to take the Avent nippels too. But the NUK nipples they have a special form.

i dont think u have to worry every baby is different. she should be a little bigger but if the doctor is not that concered about it than u should let it go. it sounds to me like she is going to be a picky eater. mine is to. have u tryed those orthipedic nipples. those mit help. or u can just put alittle in her mouth at a time. have u tryed any ceral with her. u can give her some now. she mit just want something real. and just mix it with water.

Every baby is different, so it is hard to know just what normal would be for your particular baby. That said...

According to the newest growth charts (see sources section below), that would put her just below the 75th percentile at birth and just below the 50th percentile at 5 months. That's well within normal.
