Didn't the framers design the our US democracy to specifically avoid consolidation of power.

For the last 6 years has the Republican vision of America and control of all branches created a zenith of prosperity and progress?

Isn't the republican control of Executive, Legilative, and Judical create a problamtic slippery slope where there are no checks and balances.

There's not exactly complete control by the Republican party. And we've had long runs with the Dems at other points in history... in fact, the Democrats had twenty years (1933-1953) of executive control with F.D.R. and then Truman. And we did alright. ;) In any case, these are elected officials, so if things go sour for a considerable amount of time, the American people will demand a change. That is a check in and of itself.

The framers did it correctly. They gave the people of the country the power to elect the party or parties they wanted to. If the people are unhappy with the party they can elect another party. The president does not put in charge the House or the Senate. And Bush has only nominated two Supreme Court Justices... which have to be approved by the Congress, remember Harriet Myers? There is a seperation of powers, the people chose one party for the time being however. If the other party would get their head out of their *** maybe they wouldn't have lost every major election since 1996.

No, thats why we have term limits. Also thats why George Washinton turned down the offer to become Kiing of the 13 colonies. I see your point of concern though. There are times for republican rule and then there are times for democratic rule. But im still strongly in favor of a 3rd party. I wish there was a sufficient way to break the stronghold of our 2 party system....What ever happened to the whig party?
