Well, I'm an American girl. I won't drive foreign cars. However, Toyota is becoming just as American as Ford and Chevy. Toyota is making some huge grounds in creating jobs and such in the states. I have to give them their props on that. It's not like Toyota is completely foreign anymore. I think it was Carl Edwards who said something about looking out in the parking lot and starting see just as many Toyota's for fan cars as there is Chevy and Ford.
Rahter it belongs in Nascar..yeah, I'm not really sure about that. Maybe it's b/c I'm so used to it being Ford/Chevy. Dodge coming back in sent shockwaves through, but not Dodge is a normal part of Nascar. I guess a big part of me is sitll like NO>> Keep it American, but then I have to remember Toyota is becoming pretty American. I didn't mind it so much in the truck series, but I just don't think I'm ready for it in the Cup series. I suppose I don't have a choice, and will have to deal with it next year regardless. I think you will probably see the Toyota teams really struggle for the first few years..so it's rather or not the teams can stick it through the struggles.

Yes, Toyota should be in NASCAR. The Toyota Camry which will run in Nextel Cup is built in the United States! So in my mind it is still all American. Lets not forget the Dodge cars, the parent company is Mercedes-Benz, the cars are built in North America by DaimlerChrysler. NASCAR already runs Toyota in the Craftsman Truck Series, so why not Busch and Cup? Are the so called all Americans afraid of a little competition? What really makes me laugh are the people who say they'll never attend or watch another NASCAR race if Toyota comes into the sport. These people are not real fans. The nature of this sport allows fans to love one driver and hate others, cheer for one brand of cars while booing another. So just cheer for your driver and boo the Toyota's, the important thing is the phenomenon that is NASCAR is still the same great sport it's always been.

Toyota? Yuck! Stay American! I heard that within ten years NASCAR, instead of Ford, Chevy, and Dodge; it would be Toyota, Honda, and Nissan. Thankfully, though, I read that Honda won't be coming to NASCAR. But, back to the point, not very many NASCAR fans are very happy about Toyota coming to NASCAR. Now, I'm not saying that I wouldn't cheer for my favorite driver (Greg BIffle) if he went to Toyota, but that doesn't mean that I'd be happy about it. If they bring Toyota to NASCAR, then why don't think call it INASCAR (International Association for Stock Car Auto Racing)?

If u are a TRUE Nascar fan and follower then you know that TOyota is only going to make the other teams step up and break up some of these SUPER teams that are trying to dominate. Toyota will be good for our sport and is supporting ALOT of AMERICAN families so I guess that means they are now AMERICAN motors!

Nascar would probably have faced a lawsuit if they had not let Toyota in. In this day and age, Nascar would have lost the lawsuit and Toyota would be in and much richer for it. I believe letting them in will make the other manufacturers step it up a notch to take on the challenge that Toyota brings.

I think a better question would be how many Americans are who question foreign cars (even though Toyota is now made in the U.S.A.) watch nascar and drive a Toyota or a nissan...

I like things just the way they are. Nascar is an American sport and there is nothing American about Toyota. I am also mad at Mikey Waltrip for going to Toyota..I lost alot of respect for him right there. It's a good thing he has great hair to make up for it! :)

I love Toyotas, that is actually the car that I drive and my friend drives, but NASCAR is an all american sport and should be kept that way. As soon as you let toyota in, then it will be mitsubishi or all these other foreign cars wanting to join too!

while i am all for america, you gotta look at the history books before jumping to conclusions. toyota is not the first foreign manufacturer to compete in nascar. they arent even the first to win in nascar. back in the 1950's jaguar ran numerous cup races (not the cup series then, but its today's equivalent) using xk120's. they are the only foreign manufacturer to have won at nascar's top level, with that win coming at the road course at Linden Airport, NJ at the hands of Al Keller in June, 1954. So as you can see, nascar has long been all american, but it has never been solely american.

and who wouldnt want another manufacturer coming in and busting up the strangeholds that roush and hendrick have on the sport??

I don't think Toyota needs to come 2 nascar. It won't really bother me as long as Jr. stays with Chevy.
