Ask yourself, "Is my car under warranty?" If you have a warranty leave it to the dealer to fix. A bad wheel Bearing is a possibility. But they don't usually take 5 months to burn-up. Brake hardware is another possibility & worth checking. That too, should have developed into something more by now. It could also be something in disguise. Often (on some models) the parking brake cable is fastened on the rear axle or too near the rear struts. When the car accelerates, the body compresses at the wheels & causes friction on the cable. When the car is under braking, the body lunges forward, raising at the rear end & relieving the friction on the cable. This sometimes fools the best technicians. Have someone you know & trust visually check for things that may bind in that area. If nothing is found, have it checked at a good repair shop.

If it is drum brakes start there... if the car is new chances are it isn't an axel... if disk brakes then it may be a bearing issue.. you shouldn't beat on a new car or go over 55 within the first 1500 miles.. as it is getting broken in.. hope this helps..

It is probably the right rear wheel bearing if you take it to the dealership under warranty it should be replaced for free (Under Warranty) read your warranty papers and if is not under warranty take to a independent mechanic and let him diagnosis the problem not that expensive unless you have to purchase the whole wheel bearing hub asm.

What year, make and model is the car in question? That would be a big help in answering your question with some specifics.
